The Killer B’s

I had a rough time with the Clinton's during the primaries. It was no fun to be on the receiving end of their style of politics, they fought hard and dirty. Thankfully, my anger for the Clinton's has started to fade. Well, it started fading awhile ago, but it is only now that I am able to feel comfortable in supporting them. Bill Clinton is articulate and affable, and obviously very smart. The same is true of Barack Obama. Watching them speak one after the other was very interesting. A very powerful combo… Continue reading

Republicans tweak their attack against Obama

I read a post in CNN today, stating that the RNC bought radio airtime in 8 states: Colorado, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.  This was an UNREPORTED purchase.  The message to run:  Gun Control. Reverting back to the same fear tactics- Obama is a radical, a Muslim, a Terrorist, a <insert derisive name here> ad nauseum, they've aimed at moderate or "conservative" democrats, telling them that Obama may take their guns away. (Note, it's based in truth, with a twist on words to lead people to the cliff and let them jump to their own conclusions.) "If Barack Obama becomes president, your Second Amendment right to defend yourself could be in danger. In fact, in Illinois, Obama voted to prosecute law-abiding citizens who used… Continue reading

Republican party manipulates Democrat's photos to make him appear darker
Ashwin Madia, the Democratic candidate for Minnesota's 3rd district is running against Republican Erik Paulson.  In an ad funded by the National Republican Congressional Committee, it appears that the photos have been edited to make Madia (Marine, Iraq vet) look darker.  Here are the photos, judge for yourself: Is this a message intended to foster the hope to a return of an American melting pot?  Or is this an effort to make this candidate look like a threat because of his brown skin? **Incidentally, what kind of geniuses are running the  RNCC?  Why would they edit photos for which there unaltered copies to compare?…

Reality check - Redistribution of wealth is alive and well in America

The problem is, the wealth is flowing from the middle class to the rich.  What Obama wants to do is reverse the polarity and have the rich pay more to help get America back on top. Raising taxes on the rich is the right thing to do, the shrinking middle class can no longer carry the burden alone. We have a big hole to crawl out of and it will take the sacrifice of EVERY American, rich and poor.  It's time for the wealthy to step up and do their part. With his position as a US Senator, John McCain has been integral in making sure that corporations, and the people that run them, have the advantage in our society.  WIth the power of the presidency, McCain would continue to… Continue reading

Open Thread

I present you with this classic photo. These are the people that have been in charge. I am DYING for a little elitism. This is an open thread, use it for good. And maybe a little evil…

It’s the end of the world as we know it… and I feel fine.

The past eight years have allowed me to develop a healthy degree of cynicism.  I no longer think that all of our countrymen (and countryladies) have the best interest of every American at heart. It has become painfully obvious that conservatives have no desire to compromise. I have considered what an Obama presidency without a fillibuster proof Senate would be.  The GOP would simply obstruct every single thing Obama, Pelosi, and Reid would try to do.  I find myself hoping for a completely Democratic Exec, House, and Senate just to get things done.   If the Democrats do not reach 60 seats in the Senate, we are guaranteed at least two years of complete deadlock.  That means no comprehensive health care, that means not raising taxes on rich assholes, that means at… Continue reading

Obama’s “Closing Argument”

The final few minutes The Final Few Minutes The full speech Obama Final Speech This moved me to tears when I heard it on the radio. Perhaps his best speech ever? You want this man to be president? GO VOTE! Let's get to work…

Why do poor and middle class Republicans exist?

I'm asking this question because the policies of the Republican party (even before it was hijacked by the fanatical, er I mean evangelical christians) do not support the success of the poor or middle class. There is not one good example of a Republican policy that supports the rise of the two classes. Even the policies that might appear to look supportive, are never really supportive to any other class but the rich. It's very easy for me to prove this point with all of us still suffering from the last eight years of Republican control. Even the smallest of benefits are crushed by the overwhelmingly harmful side-effects.

Just recently, I found out that my yoga instructor was a Republican and voting for the Republicans in the election. I knew Continue reading

Tito the Builder… Blacks against Obama… uhm seriously?

I really think these two videos speak for themselves so I'm not sure I need to give much of an introduction. My main question is... how much are they paying these people?

Tito the Builder

Hey McCain... yoo hoo Palin... just have one thing to say: Let my people go!! Really... these people don't give a flying rats arse about Tito and his fellow Mexicans. Now all of a sudden they're cheering him on? Poor guy... let's go have a real conversation with him. And didn't Palin just say the other day that she didn't want to be labeled? Well what in the hell is she doing to Tito, and the Joe's? I guess it's ok for her to label other people, just don't do it to her.

Blacks against Obama

I just don't… Continue reading
